Everyone Has a Story to Share

Whether you meet once, or continue weekly or monthly, Storytelling Circles create opportunities to listen, share and reminisce.

Some storytelling circle basics for adults:

  • Establish a safe, welcoming, and accessible location.
  • Offer a convenient day, and 1-2 hour time.
  • Start on Time. End on time.
  • Agree upon the ground rules for each story:

                              Length (recommended 3-minutes)

                              Content (recommended PG13)

Have fun. No need for critiques.

  • Create / Provide a list of prompts for storytellers (see below)
  • Not all stories need to be written. Storytellers can use notes or recite a story from memory.
  • The group may or may not agree to have their stories recorded.
  • Be a supportive and listen.
